MISW Museum and the NEAR Foundation have joined forces, incorporating the museum’s entire collection onto the NEAR blockchain. This integration not only ensures the collection’s security but also facilitates the utilization of NFT technology within the museum’s offerings. By placing the collection on the blockchain, the museum enables the creation of derivative art pieces and will establish an innovative Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) specifically designed for children. Through this initiative, young artists who submit their artwork gain the empowering opportunity to participate in the decision-making processes of the museum actively.
Leveraging the power of blockchain technology and decentralized governance models, MISW aims to create an inclusive, transparent, and engaging experience for its community. As members of the DAO, the children will have the opportunity to vote annually on the programs that the MISW Museum will fund.
